The Rose Tender (Full Spectrum Doula Training)
Always Supported Full Spectrum Rose Training
Arizona Native and BIPOC founded, curriculum written from my own soil
Tuition: $1,000 (payment plans available)
From Seed to Rosehip
I am Anyiese Rosalie Gowd. Certified Doula by profession. Gowdess by namesake. I oversee this garden (training).
When you join this training, you become family. You become a Rose. I tend you so you can tend your own clients.
I built this because I sat in trainings where I was invisible. Black. Mexicana. Sappony. Dying in the statistics. I learned to advocate fiercely for myself through infertility, unnecessary surgery, triumphant redemption birth, postpartum survival, and five years of breastfeeding despite every obstacle. Now I teach you to do the same for those you will serve.
Who becomes a Rose
You are called to birthwork but refuse to abandon your people, culture, and traditions in the process. You have witnessed disparities firsthand or felt them in your own body. You want skills that work in real rooms with real clients facing real barriers. You are ready to be family. You are BIPOC or allied, drawn to serve communities often overlooked, unseen, unheard.
What you will grow
🌹65 hours aligned with Arizona State Standards
Fierce advocacy
You will learn how to know your clients intimately, their support people, and their medical team. You will find your voice to stand up for your clients in their most vulnerable moments. How to dismantle disparities through speech and presence. Also, to speak up for safety, for dignity, and for yourself.
Temperament
You will learn to be calm, cool, collected, gentle. How to hold space that is your clients, not yours. Reading the room. Knowing when to step forward and when to step back.
Comfort measures
You will learn wooden tools, TENS, birth ball, rebozo, hands, body, voice, essential oils, whatever your clients culture or traditions call for. I teach you how to honor them. No rigid rules. Only what serves them.
Cultural navigation
You will learn to write birth plans that actually fit your clients lives. You will build resources for a society that builds against us financially, medically, systemically, racially, economically. You will learn to use your clients cultures, traditions, and ancestral wisdoms along with your own. I am BIPOC so I use an eclectic approach that honors where I am from as well as where you and your clients are from.
Full spectrum means full spectrum
Preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. You will learn to help, outsource, or find a resource for any need your client carries. You will know when to tend and when to refer.
The Gowdess and her garden
I come from a maternal lineage of Rosy women that has given me my namesake. This has been incorporated into my business and blended into this training. Being a Rose is more than branding, it is ancestral, running deep within my blood. It has allowed me to survive and is the refusal to wither that birthed this training. Now I passionately pass my knowledge onto you.
I only tend to one bouquet at a time, accepting 12 Roses per season. Small beds. Deep roots. I know your name. You have a place in my garden, where I tend to your aspiration to become a birthworker and help you bloom.
The path
🌹40 hours virtual, 5 Saturdays
🌹25 hours in person, Phoenix (hands on, ceremony, completion)
For certification 3 births is required, mentorship is offered, and ongoing support provided
Certificate, resource network, lifetime Rose referral circle, continued Gowdess guidance
